Discover a Groundbreaking Publication on Diabetic Retinopathy

The book, featuring forewords by Jeffrey K. Luttrull, MD, and Associate Professor Dr. Maurizio Battaglia Parodi, details and discusses the current state of knowledge on the pathogenesis, clinical symptoms, and treatment of diabetic retinopathy. The publication offers a comprehensive and up-to-date overview of this disease, addressing the needs of clinical practice and future scientific research. The book, enriched with numerous illustrations, will be particularly useful for students, ophthalmologists, diabetologists, and researchers.

Foreword:
Dr. Gawecki is to be congratulated for this excellent, concise, yet comprehensive publication on diabetic retinopathy, intended for healthcare professionals. This book presents and discusses the current state of knowledge on the pathogenesis, key clinical symptoms, and treatment of diabetic retinopathy. Throughout this work, Professor Gawecki reveals the most important characteristic of a true scientist: curiosity. Why is this so important?
Skepticism has become the dominant attitude in modern science. While often cloaked in intellectual purity, the skeptic risks nothing, discovers nothing, creates nothing, and learns nothing new. Anyone – regardless of position – can assume the role of a skeptic. For how many years did Gullstrand deny Einstein the Nobel Prize? The problem is not that he did so – but that he could do so. That was skepticism in full bloom.
Despite the excellence of Professor Gawecki’s book, it is important to understand that everything contained within it will be considered obsolete or even incorrect in 10, 20, or 50 years. Such is the price of progress. That is precisely why we should never too zealously defend the status quo or the “current consensus” – because it is wrong. We just don’t know it yet. If you don’t believe me, take a moment to reflect on the past. Despite our sincere efforts to be as close to the truth as possible in our time, the future will most likely look upon us with horror, amusement – and most probably with both feelings simultaneously. If we are lucky – also with compassion.
Professor Gawecki’s curiosity, evident on every page of this book, is an antidote to our culture of skeptical arrogance and an invitation to progress – towards new, better knowledge and better practices. This is another step in an endless journey. Such a book holds an important place in our library. I am sure that reading it will bring you pleasure and prove useful – as it was for me.

Foreword:
This excellent book, carefully prepared by Dr. Maciej Gawecki, addresses one of the most significant threats to human vision – diabetic retinopathy.
The text has been organized to allow for a comprehensive discussion of all aspects of the disease, by presenting its classification, epidemiology, pathophysiology, clinical symptoms, and treatment methods. Diabetic Retinopathy offers a comprehensive and up-to-date overview of this disease, addressing both the needs of contemporary clinical practice and the objectives of future scientific research related to diabetic retinopathy.
In addition to the clearly written text, the book is enriched with many illustrations, which facilitate understanding of each discussed topic. Diabetic Retinopathy will be particularly useful for students, ophthalmologists, diabetologists, and researchers.

I wish the Author much personal success.
